OUROBOROS

Shannon Doronio Chavez, Ouroboros

Video collage, sound, 5:53 min

"Ouroboros" is both a reverent dedication to and incisive critique of Postmodernism. The video loops like the symbol it’s named after—the serpent devouring its own tail. Images from 80s-90s television unfold as a nostalgic meditation on repetition and the tension between cultural memory and cultural amnesia.

Layered with humor, fragmentation, and eerie nostalgia, Ouroboros questions whether our aesthetic revolutions are evolution—or simply looping back into the same spectacle, again and again.
